Petie the Pumpkin
This weekend i carved a pumpkin with my 3 neices, and told them the story of Petie the Pumpkin. It's a great way to do something festive and fun while teaching children about how God changes their life when they accept him. And it can be as formal or as casual as you make it... I got the outline from Doug Stephens, the youth pastor at Temple Baptist Church (that's my Tallahassee church family!) He shared it in an Elementary Chapel when I was at NFC. Here's the Outline.

Petie
-Petie hears the Word of God and is cut (Hebrews 4:12)
-Petie is exposed for what is really inside him (Jer. 17:9,10)
-All of Peties' Junk (sin) is cast away (Ps. 103:12)
-Petie Got a new face (II Cor. 3:18)
-He got Eyes (Matt. 6:22)
-Petie got a big smile (Prov. 15:13)
-Petie has a light inside of him (II Cor. 4:6)
-Petie was changed from a simple pumpkin to a simply glorious site! (II Cor. 5:17)
