By His Own Glory And Goodness
Ok, this morning I was reading the following verses, and was really EXHORTED by them!

II Peter 1:3-9
His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love.

For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

Gosh, This is all such good stuff! I especially love this part!

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

Teacher's Convention
I was pleasantly surprised at teacher's convention today! Usually the General Sessions are the same ol' fundamentalist, Christian-School only teaching that I have heard for years in years! This one was so different. Not only did the speaker challenge Christians to lead in academic excellence, he encouraged THINKING! He said quite a bit of contraversial things (breaking out of the conservative, fundamentalist box) but they were needful! He even had a book list of recomended reading that was full of good books! And I finally bought one of the books that I have been wanting for a while now. Dallas Willard's Renovations of the Heart! I'm so excited!

Oh, and the best part of it all, at the beginning of General Session, there was a group of kids that did this musical/drama presentation of creation. These kids were about 8-9 years old. It was a pretty routine "Christian School" production until near the end. This little 9 year old BROKE IT DOWN! I mean, he started doing all of this break dancing... the worm and all!!! And he was GOOD at it! It was really cute!
