Words on This Week

This Week:

I wrapped up my summer and started school this week. Kinda Sad, but kinda exciting too, this being my 2nd year at Westover. It's nice not to be the 'new' person there. We have been having teacher in service and school actually begins this coming Wednesday!!!! So much to do before then!

As for the last few days of my summer, they were great, except for having to spend 3 hrs getting rid of that dumb worm on my dad's computer. That wasn't fun, for sure! Later that day, though, my friend Angela came over to play music. She brought her guitar and dulcimer and showed me some new things. It was great fun!

Also this week God has been teaching me a lot about gratitude and how important it is to EXPRESS our gratitude to people. Encouragement is a powerful tool that we have as believers that can further the Kingdom. When I am encouraged, I makes me want to press on. I think that gratitude is a form of encouragement and therefore, when I DON'T express my gratitude, does that mean that I'm doing the oposite of 'furthering the Kingdom?' I think it could. Pretty convicting! Not to mention that I am robbing my friends and fellow believers of a blessing! I think the expression 'have an attitude of gratitude' should be changed to 'SHOW an attitude of gratitude!' (or maybe that's already the expression! LOL. if so, it's a good one!)

Last night TL had a party at my place. Great fun, Great Fellowship! We ate junk food ('wow! those are some big brownies!') Then did some late night swimming! After everyone was pretty water logged (I got a little more wet than I had intended! Jeans and all!) we just sat on the dock, talked, and watched the sky. Did you know that Mars was closer to the earth last night that it ever had been is thousands and thousands of year? (Trivia thanks to Jordan.) It was so close you could see the rings. (Joke thanks to Josh) LOL!

Ok, that's all!

Cheerio, my friends! Grace and Peace!

Continued...

Continuing with the thoughts from my last post...

From Isaiah 35
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing:

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, [shall be] grass with reeds and rushes.

The Whole Chapter is great, so go back and read the whole thing! :O)
