HIS Boundless Love...

Celebration was another demonstration of God's provision and care for me. As I humbled myself and confessed sin and areas that I had NOT been trusting God in, he was faithful to lift me up to a renewed desire for Him. Pride is a sneaky thing. It hides in the dark depths of my heart and attempts to disguises itself as many other seemingly 'ok' things, yet when it rears its shameful head, there it is in all its sinful 'glory'. It's painful when God's Spirit brings things into light that we would rather keep in the darkness, but it is God's 'boundless love' that will NOT let us hide our sin. For he has called us to himself for redemption AND purification. The process is painful, but the outcome is glorious!

This little sin of mine,
I want to let it hide,
This little sin of mine,
I want to let it hide,
This little sin of mine,
I want to let it hide,
But Your divine design is to refine.

The following song is one of my favorites that we sang at Celebration. It's on the 'Songs For a Cross Centered Life' CD. I have listened to it over and over again these past few days, and been blessed by the creative yet sound lyrics.

The Glories of Calvary
by Steve and Vikki Cook
Lord, You're calling me to come
And behold the wondrous cross
To explore the depths of grace
That came to me at such a cost
Where your boundless love
Conquered my boundless sin
And mercy's arms were open wide

My heart is filled with a thousand songs
Proclaiming the glories of Calvary
With every breath
Lord how I long
To sing of Jesus who died for me
Lord, take me deeper
Into the glories, of Calvary

Sinners find eternal joy
In the triumph of your wounds
By our Savior's crimson flow,
Holy wrath has been removed
And your saints below
Join with your saints above
Rejoicing in the risen Lamb
