Too Much Fun
By Daryle Singletary
Too much fun? What's that mean?
It's like too much money, there's no such thing
It's like a girl too pretty, with too much class
Being too lucky, a car too fast
No matter what they say I've done
I ain't never had too much fun.

So, yeh, I'm looking forward to having MUCH, MUCH FUN this weekend!

News on the Baby Front
Noah and Katie's Baby Ethan gets to come home tomorrow from the hospital!!! Praise God!!! :)

Encouragement From the Word
I was encouraged (by email) to read Psalm 27 this morning. The follwoing verses stood out to me.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD , this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

I shared the verses with my first period class, and also shared the following:

The Lord is my light! A light 'lights' the way. Because of light, we can see things in proper perspective. Because I know God, I can see things in proper perspective.... and trust in God's Sovereignty.

And my salvation! God has already taken care of my most dire and basic need of salvation!

Whom shall I fear? Because God is THE Sovereign LIGHT, and HE has taken care of my need of salvation, I have no need to fear people, situations, future, circumstances, etc...

My response? One thing I ask of the LORD , this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.

Providentially I had been listening to Shane and Shane on the way to school, and the song Sweet Illumination caught my attention.

Sweet Illumination
by Shane Barnard
One thing, one thing
This is what i desire, this is what i desire
Sweet illumination, sweet illumination
That i may gaze upon His face
O, to know this man

Sweet illumination, sweet illumination
To glory in the presence of the King
Behold the sweet essence of this one thing
That i may know the Spring within me
As it rises the Spring, so sweet

A Quiz
Ok, I usually don't do silly little internet 'quizzes' but I was bored and went to capsgirl's site off a link on amy's weblog, and found this quiz... took it b/c it was short and again i was a little bored and found the results interesting. Think it kinda pegged me. LOL!

VIOLET

You surround yourself with art and music and are constantly driven to express yourself. You often daydream. You prefer honesty in your relationships and belive strongly in your personal morals.

Deemed Worthy
I FINALLY was able to get my NC Drivers License today! I WAS deemed worthy, though I have been DENIED many times in the past! LOL! Actually I think the DMV guy just felt sorry for me, b/c I could have swore I missed more questions on that test then I was supposed to! But he cut me a break, and boy am I thankful! It's been 12 years since my last written driving test and it was HARD! You would think a teacher would know better than to CRAM a few minutes before the test!!! Shhhh... Don't tell my students! :)

This Morning
The sky was pretty across the lake this morning. On the way to school I was listening to the Jill Paquette cd that some friends gave me. These lyrics were such a reminder of God's grace.

From One of These Days
by Jill Paquette
You meet me in my need
You bring new life to me
And you go beyond what I feel

Sunday's Sermon
This is from Randy's message on Sunday. Goes along with what God has been teaching me in my personal time with him, in the Word, and through reading Ruthless Trust.

THE WAY OF TRUST
When you trust Jesus…
•wonder replaces worry
•gratitude replaces grumbling
•awe replaces anxiety
•surrender replaces self-pity
•compassion replaces criticalness
•motivation replaces misery
•action replaces apathy
•confidence replaces condemnation
•joy replaces judgment
•desire replaces driveness
•commitment replaces complacency
•confidence replaces control
•venerability replaces victimization
•security replaces stress
•gratefulness replaces getting ahead
•directed life replaces a divided life
•casting your cares replaces caving in to your cares
•embracing replaces escaping
•meaning replaces the mundane
•practice replaces procrastination
•peace replaces panic
•rest replaces restlessness
•potential replaces problem
•faith replaces fatalism
•fierceness replaces fear of failure

The following is a hymn that Randy mentioned. He repeatedly stated one line from that hymn... Oh for grace, to trust him more!

'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus
Louisa M.R. Stead, c. 1850-1917, William J. Kirkpatrick, 1838-1921
Jesus, Jesus,
how I trust Him,
How I’ve proven Him over and over,
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus,
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
